Aparna O’Connor, a therapist in Maryland, standing in her counseling office.

Hi all! I am a bicultural therapist in Maryland helping young adults and adults heal from anxiety and depression. I am passionate about supporting you as you learn how to quiet your inner critic and rediscover your inner worth.

I attended the University of Pennsylvania to earn my Master’s degree in Social Work. Since then, I have worked in a variety of different settings, picking up valuable tools along my journey - tools that I tailor specifically for our work together! Formally, they are developed from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, as well as Psychodynamic frameworks.

When I’m not at work, you can find me with my husband, two kids, and puppy, as well as our extended family and friends. To me, the support systems we create are everything. I also enjoy traveling, trying new foods, and exploring and adventuring with my kids to see the world through their eyes. My love for learning and connecting comes out in these ways.

I look forward to virtually meeting and learning a little more about you. I would be honored to join you on your journey. I offer a 15-minute consultation to help you decide if we are a good match. Reach out today to get started.

My Values

  • Kindness is powerful. I have seen over and over how it combats isolation and negative self-talk to build connection. It is an integral piece of my practice as it is a vital part of healing.

  • During our work together, I will be honest with you. I show up genuinely in both my work and personal life, so I can live as the best version of myself. My hope is to support you in aligning your life with your values so that you can live as your true self.

  • I’m committed to providing inclusive services that celebrate the diversity of all people. I also believe in the importance of equality and collaboration between therapists and clients. We’ll draw on your wisdom from your lived experiences as well as your strengths to help guide our work.
